Thuja (thuja occidentalis) Eastern White Cedar

Named the 'Tree of Life' by French explorer Jacques Cartier because an infusion of its needles saved his troops from scurvy, thuja has been an important North American herb.  Today, we know that thuja is an extremely powerful oil that must be used carefullly to avoid its toxic effects.  Thuja should NEVER be taken internally.  Topically, thuja is reportedly effective against genital warts, cystitis, prostatitis and STDs.  Others claim thuja is effective with obesity, cellulitis, seborrhea, roseacea, and chronic tendonitis.

In Chinese Medicine, thuja is considered VERY moving with affinities to the Liver and Kidney, especially useful for damp-cold bi-obstruction.

Thuja should be used sparingly, diluted and for short periods of time.

Thyme Linalol  (thymus vulgaris ct. linalool)

The most user-friendly of all thyme oils, thyme linalol is antiseptic, antispasmodic as well as being anti-infectious.

Also known as 'Indian saffron', turmeric is used extensively in Indian cuisine. It has long been used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine to ease abdominal cramps. Today we can also use it for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic and diuretic properties.  Our turmeric has a mild scent.
